How will he cope when Summer leaves for Boston?
FOR WEEK COMMENCING 25TH MARCH
As Summer books her flight to Boston, Billy agrees to cook a roast dinner by way of celebration while Bernie takes Paul to his appointment with the speech therapist. Confirming that Paul’s speech and ability to eat solid food have deteriorated, the therapist suggests that it might be time to use a feeding tube.
Returning home, Paul and Bernie break the news that he can no longer eat solid food for fear of choking but Paul assures Billy and Summer that if they liquidise his food, he’ll be fine.
Later, as Billy, Summer, Bernie and Todd tuck into their roast dinner, Paul sets about his bowl of puréed food and as Billy, Summer, Bernie and Todd clear away the plates, Paul fights back the tears.
Later on in the week, Billy, Paul and Todd bid an emotional farewell to Summer as she sets off for Boston.
When Paul and Billy call at the Rovers to retrieve Paul’s laptop, they’re gutted to find out it was stolen by the burglars, leaving Glenda feeling terrible and later, in the flower shop flat, Paul plays back some of his pre-recorded messages through his laptop, but Billy reckons it still needs some work.
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1
