Paul is determined to enjoy his last day of freedom in Corrie

How much longer can Paul fight for?

FOR WEEK COMMENCING 22 JULY

Billy calls the family together for a meeting at No.5 where Paul plays them a prerecorded message. In the message, he tells them that he’s dying, can’t bear anymore fighting and right now needs his Mum more than ever.

Later, Gemma glumly reveals the landlord is sending someone to view No.5 later and on the street, Summer is stunned to see an estate agent ushering Kit inside No.5.

As a new occupational therapist calls on Paul at the flat, she tells him the stairlift is now too dangerous and he can no longer leave the flat. And Billy tells Paul they will leave the flat one last time tomorrow and can do whatever he fancies.

During a special episode on Friday, devoted entirely to Paul’s story, we see him wake to discover his speech has drastically deteriorated.

After being told he can no longer use the stair lift, Paul is determined to enjoy his last day of freedom out of the flat.

The emotional episode follows Paul and Billy as they spend the day doing the things that Paul loves and wants to do whilst he still can. And it's an emotional rollercoaster for both men.

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1
