Peter Kay’s Car Share WILL Return After All

When Peter Kay’s Car Share ended earlier this year, it was revealed that there would be no more episodes, not even a special.

But thankfully, during Children In Need it was revealed that Car Share will be coming back for one final hurrah.

And it’s just as well because not only is it a brilliantly funny series, but many viewers like myself, were left in dismay at the end of the series two when Kayleigh stepped out of John’s car and his life forever.

An online petition demanding a conclusion to the series gathered over 100,000 signatures and Peter Kay has said: "We were completely overwhelmed by the response and even though we've no plans to write a third series we knew we couldn't end the story there."

Car Share: Unscripted will follow John and Kayleigh home on their daily commute only the entire episode will see Peter and Sian improvising as John and Kayleigh and will feature what was filmed whilst driving around with no script.

Speaking about the unscripted episode, Peter Kay said: "We were always very fond of ad libbing around the script when we were filming the series so we decided to see what would happen if we took the script away and just relied on just our chemistry alone, reacting to whatever came on the radio."

The story will then conclude for good in 2018 with a special finale episode which will follow a repeat of series two and reveal just what happens next to John and Kayleigh.
