Phil and Julie face a heartbreaking decision over Nigel’s care in EastEnders

But will they honour his wishes?

 3-9 JANUARY

After Phil and Julie take Nigel to visit a care home, the senior nurse shows them how they care for people living with dementia.

Phil and Julie are then told they must make a decision quickly to secure Nigel’s place. But when Nigel becomes distressed, Phil and Julie decide to take him home and continue their search.

As Julie starts looking for other care home options, Phil argues that Nigel should have a say about where he goes to live.

When he and Phil share a warm moment, Nigel talks about how much he’d love to go to the beach.

Later, Julie prepares to leave for Scotland to sell her and Nigel’s family home to fund his care.
