Phil sits on a big secret as Nigel and Julie’s vow renewal approaches in EastEnders

Can he and Julie put their differences aside for Nigel?

As Nigel struggles to settle in the unfamiliar surroundings of Peacock Palace, Linda asks Phil to support Julie, unaware of why they aren’t speaking.

When Linda overhears Julie cancelling plans, she offers to sit with Nigel so Julie can take a break. However, when Julie is about to leave, Nigel gets distressed and accidentally hurts her. And Linda is shocked to see multiple bruises on Julie’s arms.

Worried, Linda asks Phil to intervene to support Julie, but is shocked when Julie explains he was going to take Nigel to Portugal without telling her.

Determined to be there for Julie, Linda offers to organise the vow renewal, and Julie happily accepts, on the proviso that Phil isn’t invited.

Meanwhile, Phil takes a call from the care home that now has a place for Nigel, but he withholds the information from Julie.

As the day of Nigel and Julie’s vow renewal arrives, Phil still hasn’t told Julie about the care home place, and he and Julie need to accept it within 24 hours to ensure his place.

Wandering over to Phil’s, Nigel presumes he’s the best man, which angers Phil, who agrees to take him to the wedding and then leave.
