Rex is released from prison and returns to the village in Hollyoaks

But can he rebuild any bridges?

Tom introduces Rex to Froggy and is taken aback to realise it’s his grandfather. And Detective Donny tells Rex he’s being released later that day.

Later, Rex returns to the village but keeps to the shadows, wary of how his sisters will react.

And after Ste tries to reach out to Lucas who brushes him off, Rex approaches Ste once he's alone, hopeful for a reunion. But Ste insists they need Lucas’s blessing first.

When Rex arrives at Grace’s flat, Clare is less than impressed, but Grace insists she doesn’t want to lose another brother and pleads with her sister to leave him unharmed.

With Lucas out for the night, Ste finds Rex outside The Dog and invites him over for tea. And things appear to be looking up for the pair as they spend the night together.

As Tony prepares for a BBQ at The Hutch, Ste urges him to postpone it in light of recent events, but Tony is determined not wanting to waste stock. And as word spreads that Rex is out, the village turns against him when he visits The Hutch.
