Could Daniel have been Lauren's secret boyfriend?
FOR WEEK COMMENCING 11TH MARCH
After Bobby suggests he should think about renting Lauren’s old flat, Sean says he saw what looked like blood on the curtains. Heading straight for the police station, Carla and Bobby tell DS Swain.
Letting themselves into Lauren’s flat, Craig and DS Swain survey the extent of the blood stains and Bobby tells them about her relationship with Roy, how he gave her a job, found her somewhere to live and cleaned up the mess in the flat after she left.
Calling at the café, DS Swain questions Roy.
After Bobby and Max spend the night watching the police coming and going from Lauren’s flat, Bethany and Daniel call round at No.8 to ask about Lauren and Max quizzes Daniel about his tutor sessions. Realising the dates don't stack up, Max eyes Daniel with suspicion.
When Max goes to the station to tell Swain about Lauren’s O-Vidz account he discovers Ryan had already told he and DS Swain questions Max about Lauren’s secret boyfriend. Admitting that he never met her boyfriend, Max suspects it’s Daniel Osbourne.
Quizzing Daniel about his relationship with Lauren, he's horrified when DS Swain suggests that she paid for her lessons with sex. When DS Swain drags up his previous relationships with Summer and Nicky Wheatle he demands a solicitor realising he is under suspicion.
Later, Bethany and Daniel listen in horror to a radio interview with DS Swain in which she suggests that Lauren was murdered.
The following day, Daniel confides in Ken that he hasn’t slept a wink fearing he’ll be banged up for a murder he didn’t commit. And when it becomes clear that Roy is getting trolled online, Carla is forced to show him the vile comments.
With Max wanting to do another appeal, Carla and Nina warn Roy not to do the appeal as it’ll only invite further unwanted attention.
When Suzi from the Gazette arrives at the café hoping to record a fresh appeal, they're interrupted by the arrival of DS Swain who tells Roy she’s arresting him on suspicion of the murder of Lauren Bolton.
Carla and Nina watch in horror as Roy is led away and the video of his arrest has been posted online, leaving Carla sickened by Roy’s predicament.
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1
