Ruth Jones and James Corden reunite for Apple TV's new comedy drama, The Choir

Can a local choir heal a rift between the estranged siblings?

Apple TV has announced The Choir, a new eight-part comedic drama from Ruth Jones and James Corden about family, friendship, love and music. Marking their first project together since Gavin & Stacey's record-breaking finale episode.

They play brother and sister Ben and Lisa, who haven’t seen each other for several years. Ben has been living abroad, while Lisa has carried on in their small English town, where nothing ever happens.

But when events take a sorry turn, Ben is forced to return to a life he never wanted, a town he never liked and a family from which he’s estranged.

Can the unlikely healing of a rift with his big sister come in the form of a struggling local choir and the ensemble who sing their hearts out each week?

Guest stars include Hannah Waddingham, James McAvoy and Jim Broadbent.

The Choir also stars Tom Davis, Rosie Sheehy, Susan Brown, Jason Watkins, David Harewood, Alexandria Riley, Sylvestra Le Touzel, Tom Edden, Gary Lamont, Emily Lloyd-Sani, Stephen Leask, Luiis Rouf, Jo Foster, Evie Jones and Farrah Abbassy.

Made by Various Artists Limited and TidyTwo, The Choir is written and created by Ruth Jones and James Corden, directed by Jennifer Sheridan and Jim Archer and executive produced by Jones, Corden, Phil Clarke and Jack Bayles.

The Choir will air in 2027 on Apple TV
