Sam’s delusions reach breaking point in Corrie

Will Carla recognise what's going on?

6-12 JUNE

When Will confides in Hope that he’s considering giving up athletics, as it reminds him of Megan, she tells him that if he gives up, then not only is he letting Megan control him, but he’s allowing her to stifle his talent.

Watching them, Sam's mind goes into overdrive.

After imagining hearing Roy urging him to take control and rid himself of Will once and for all, Sam asserts that he’s not a violent person, but Roy accuses him of cowardice and declares their friendship over. Will Sam act?

The next day, when Sam mentions the incident with Will yesterday, Roy is mystified, but Sam fails to notice his reaction.

Elsewhere, Will tells Hope he’s had a text from an old running friend from Hull who wants to meet up. But as Will waits for Lee, Megan approaches, and Will realises he’s been duped. What does she want from him?

As Sam envisions Roy at his side and in his ear, he heads to the Rovers, where he finds Will alone in the back room. And while Will is engrossed in a shooting game, Sam hears Roy warning him that Will is going to kill him, too.

As Sam flees, a concerned Will goes after him, and Sam dashes into the cafe, locking the door behind him.

With Will banging on the door, inside, Roy finds Sam in a terrible state, who reels at the sight of him, totally thrown by the fact that he can see two versions of Roy. The real Roy and the vision Roy.

As Nick, Toyah and Leanne gather outside, begging Sam to let them in, could Roy be in danger from an increasingly distressed Sam?

As the search for Sam continues, Carla spots him in the precinct. Noticing the fear on Sam’s face, Carla does her best to reassure him while reaching for her phone.

Having called Nick, Carla tries to pacify an agitated Sam, but when Nick and David appear, he makes a run for it. Deeply upset, Carla explains she thinks he’s suffering from psychosis.
