But who has blood on their hands, and what other secrets are the dinner guests keeping?

20-26 JUNE

On Monday, we will learn who killed Theo Silverton, as a series of flashbacks revisit the fateful April night when his body was found, as a dinner party sees home truths served and tea most definitely spilt.

The special episode on Monday will begin with a flashforward, at Kit and Sarah’s flat, as we see the remnants of a dinner party with broken glass, a chair upended and blood splattered across the tablecloth.

With more than one person sitting around the table having a motive for wanting Theo dead, who has blood on their hands and what other secrets are the dinner guests keeping?

Kit reminds Sarah about their date night and suggests they go food shopping at lunchtime. But when Kit receives a text from Sarah cancelling their lunchtime trip, Brody teases him that Sarah’s had a better offer.

Overhearing, Maria's mind whirrs and as Sarah leaves the builders' yard, Kit watches her with suspicion.

In the Rovers, Kit's heart sinks when Sarah invites Todd and Summer to join them for dinner. However, when he spots her whispering to Gary, Kit suggests that Gary and Maria might like to join him. Sarah, Todd and Summer. Gary and Sarah freeze whilst Maria accepts his invitation. What does Kit have in store?

As Todd, Summer, Gary and Maria arrive for the dinner party, tensions are high as old animosities bubble beneath the surface. Maria aims some bitchy comments at Sarah, while Kit does his best to get Gary on his own, making pointed remarks about people’s propensity to lie.

They say revenge is a dish best served cold, and with the dinner party in full swing, and Kit serving up the main course, Maria raises a toast to the hosts, seizing an opportunity to turn up the heat on hubby Gary, when she accuses Sarah and Gary of having an affair.

She isn't the only one with suspicions about the former lovers; Kit has also noticed Gary and Sarah’s strange behaviour and wants answers.

As everyone reels in shock, will secrets and lies be exposed in a shocking series of flashbacks? And how does the evening end with blood splattered across the table?

Following the explosive dinner party, Maria gives Gary the cold shoulder, and when Sarah finds a ring box in Kit’s bag, her eyes widen.

But she’s brought up short when Kit suddenly appears. How will he react in light of last night’s events?

Later, Todd calls to see Sarah and tells her he suspects there’s more to her and Gary's situation than meets the eye.

On the street, Gary goads Kit, pointing out that he has no actual evidence against him.

Meanwhile, Gary assures Todd that there is no affair, but Sarah both likes and trusts him and Kit’s jealous, which is why he’s trying to pin the murder on him. Tackling Sarah, Todd wonders if Gary knows more than he’s letting on about Theo’s murder. Can Sarah help Todd find some answers?

Turning to George for support, Todd breaks down in tears and confesses that he’s never felt so lonely, and both George and Christina insist he should move back in.

As Sarah drowns her sorrows in the Rovers, Nick and David are concerned to see her so drunk. Jodie puts Sarah’s troubles down to the fact that she was attacked, but when she lets slip that David the dog was barking at the time, Sarah’s left suspicious.

Coronation Street continues Monday, Tuesday and Thursday on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
