Charles Venn and Lee Ryan faced each other in the dreaded Strictly dance off.
This weekend the movies came to Strictly with the remaining 14 couples giving their best Hollywood-inspired performances in a bid to impress the viewers at home as well as the judges; Shirley Ballas, Dame Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood.
After the judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes, it was revealed that Lee Ryan was once again in the bottom two and this week he was joined by Charles Venn and his professional partner Karen Clifton.
Both couples performed their routines again, Lee and Nadiya performed their Cha Cha Cha to The Power Of Love from the movie Back To The Future and Charles and Karen performed their American Smooth to Up Where We Belong from the movie An Officer and a Gentleman, in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts with Craig Revel Horwood choosing to save Charles and Karen, "The better dancers for me on the night were Charles and Karen.”
Darcey Bussell also chose to save Charles and Karen saying “I wish both these couples weren’t here so it’s tough but the better couple for me was Charles and Karen.”
Bruno Tonioli sealed Lee's fate by also choosing to save Charles and Karen, commenting“They were both very very good I have to say that. Very hard, but I have to pick Charles and Karen.”
Despite it not changing the outcome of the vote, Head Judge Shirley Ballas did admit that she would have chosen to save Lee & Nadiya “I would have gone with Lee on the musical performance from this evening.”
When asked by Tess about his time on the show, Lee said “I’ve had a really lovely time, even though it’s been short it seems like I’ve been here a long time because it’s been so intense, it’s been amazing. I love these guys, I absolutely love every single one of them. There’s so much love in everyone it’s been a memory that I will treasure for the rest of my life, I really will.”
When asked if she had any words for Lee, Nadiya said “Just stay the way you are because you’re such an amazing person and I love you so much.”
Sunday’s Results show also saw the Strictly studio transformed into one of the wettest locations in London as the professional dancers performed a very modern tribute to Singing In The Rain and there was a special musical performance from Grammy Award-winner Gladys Knight, who performed the Bond classic Licence To Kill.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.40pm with the results show on Sunday at 7.45pm on BBC One
