And it's his toughest challenge to date!

Disney+ has announced Breaking Spencer Matthews, a new feature-length documentary from Hulu, in which Spencer Matthews takes on his greatest challenge yet. Seven full-distance 140-mile triathlons across all seven continents in just 21 days.

The new documentary comes three years after Matthews' first Disney+ documentary, Finding Michael, which showed an unexpected side to Spencer and drew others into his story in a way that resonated with viewers.

Breaking Spencer Matthews promises to continue to surprise viewers, putting Spencer at the centre of another dramatic and compelling scenario.

Beyond the extraordinary physical feat, the film is an intimate exploration of men's mental health, confronting themes of identity, addiction, and grief. A lingering reputation forged during his years on a hit reality show, Spencer confronts the man he used to be, examines his destructive relationship with alcohol, and continues to process the devastating loss of his brother, who died on an Everest expedition.

The film promises to be exhilarating, hilarious, and terrifying in equal measure, culminating in the ultimate test… the seventh full-distance triathlon in Antarctica, where simply entering the freezing waters may prove to be the greatest challenge of all.

As well as the thrills and high-stakes action, the documentary also provides plenty of laughs, featuring the hilarious side of Spencer that audiences know and love. His trademark humour and magnetic personality bring fun and infectious energy to the story.

With his close friend and guide, Chris Taylor, by his side, Spencer embarks on an adventure that pushes them to physical and psychological limits. Together, they face a challenge that will quite literally bring them to breaking point.

Ahead of the coumentary airing, Spencer Matthews said "This challenge has become about far more than completing seven Ironman’s across all seven continents. What began as an extreme physical pursuit has evolved into a journey of self-discovery and transformation that has tested me in ways I could never have anticipated."

"There were moments of exhaustion, doubt, and struggle where I had to dig deeper than ever before, treading a fine line between one of the greatest adventures imaginable and life-threatening danger."

"I’m proud to share that journey with audiences through Disney+ and Whisper. After ‘Finding Michael,’ it means a great deal to continue working with Disney+ and to explore another deeply personal chapter of my life. I hope this film inspires people to question their own limits and to see that what feels impossible, physically, emotionally, or personally can often be the very thing that transforms us."

Made by Whisper, Breaking Spencer Matthews will be directed by Chris Grubb and produced by Drew Masters, Daniel Tait and Tom Beart.

Breaking Spencer Matthews will air on Disney+
