I Talk Telly Awards 2018 nominee Stephen Bailey has landed his dream role and will guest star in Coronation Street next week.
He'll play the MC of the Weatherfield Hairdresser Awards in scenes that will air on Monday 12th November at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
When Claudia arrives at the awards with Rita, Maria and Ken, she winds Audrey up about how much she is looking forward to the awards that afternoon as she's been nominated for the lifetime achievement award. Audrey is horrified at the news and knocks back the wine dreading the afternoon.
Speaking about his guest appearance, Stephen said “When I started in comedy, my one big thing I wanted to do was to be in Corrie, especially being a Manchester boy! I was brought up watching it whilst eating my tea.
They essentially asked me to do a Holly and Phil-esque cameo by hosting the Hairdresser of the Year Awards, it was such a joy to essentially do a corporate gig on such an iconic TV show and with their legendary characters.”
2018 has most certainly been Stephen's year, having landed his first presenting role on 5 STAR’s Celebs on the Farm, which will return in 2019 as Celebs on the Ranch. And he has just been nominated for Best Newcomer at this year's I Talk Telly Awards. Voting is now open here.
