Can he bring himself to visit his dad before it's too late?

 21-27 FEBRUARY

Cassie remarks on Steve’s new bromance with Ben and how Tim’s going to be very put out.

Having taken a call, Steve tells Cassie that his Dad’s landlord is demanding £ 1,800 in unpaid rent, and it seems his Dad put him down as a guarantor.

Coming off the phone, Steve tells Ben and Cassie that he’s spoken to one of Jim’s army mates and it would seem that his Dad is in hospital and not expected to pull through.

Cassie urges Steve to visit his Dad, but Tracy disagrees and reminds Steve of all the grief Jim caused him.

When Steve discovers he’s got a flat battery, Ben offers to drive him to the hospital, but as they pull up in the hospital car park, Steve remains in the car and admits that whilst he knows it’s his last chance to see his Dad, he also knows he could be making a big mistake. Will Steve go through with it?

Inviting Steve and Tim to join him at a County event, Ben explains that he got free tickets, and when the three later return to the Rovers in an upbeat mood, Steve leaves his phone on the bar and heads off to play darts, unaware that his Dad is trying to call him.

The following day, Steve wakes up on the sofa in the Rovers’ back room after a skin full the night before.

Steve tells Cassie that he’s going to forget about his Dad as he’s got everyone he needs; a lovely partner and a lovely daughter. In the cab office, Mary excitedly shares the news with Tim that Cassie’s planning a big surprise for Steve tomorrow…
