With both Jason Watkins and Robson Green confirmed to return.

5 has today confirmed that their hit cat-and-mouse thriller The Game will be returning for a second series, with filming already underway, and Jason Watkins and Robson Green both confirmed to return.

Set a year after series one, having survived a brutal stabbing, former detective Huw, played by Jason Watkins, believes he has finally escaped the psychological grip of serial killer Patrick, played by Robson Green, who is now safely behind bars.

Retreating with his wife, Alice, played by Sunetra Sarker, to an isolated house by the sea, Huw is determined to rebuild a quiet life, far from the violence that nearly destroyed them. But peace, he soon realises, is an illusion.

Returning alongside Jason Watkins, Robson Green and Sunetra Sarker will be Indy Lewis and Amber Jame. And additional cast for series two includes Sonny Ashbourne Serkis, Tanya Franks, Dominic Rowan, Amanda Bright, Richard Pepple, Carl Rice and Connor Calland.

On The Game's return, Jason Watkins said "I cannot wait to get started on The Game S2. Huw has been through the mill and there’s no let-up this series. I’m excited to get my teeth into what’s ahead for him."

To which Robson Green added "Stepping back into the world of The Game for series two is an exciting challenge. Just when you thought it was over, Patrick is back pulling strings with a vengeance. 5 audiences are in for another brilliant ride."

Made by Clapperboard, in association with Sphere Abacus, the second series of The Game will once again be written by Tom Grieves and directed by Toby Frow. It'll be produced by Alison B Matthews and executive produced by Paul Testar, Sebastian Cardwell, Rachel Gesua, Mike Benson, Jonathan Ford and Will Stapley.

Speaking ahead of series two, 5's Commissioning Editor, Drama, Paul Testar, said "The Game was one of 5’s top performing dramas of 2025 and we are delighted to be working with Clapperboard and Sphere Abacus again to bring a second series of this dark thriller to our screens with our brilliant leads Jason Watkins and Robson Green returning."

To which Rachel Gesua, Senior Executive Producer for Clapperboard added "I’m thrilled to be getting the team behind The Game back together, the performances of Robson Green and Jason Watkins elevated the show to something unmissable, and I can’t wait to take this to the next level."

The Game will return later this year on 5
