The search for Freddie brings up the past for Toyah as she opens up to Nick in Corrie

But will he keep her secret from Leanne?

FOR WEEK COMMENCING 22ND APRIL

When Leanne facetimes Rowan to tell him about Toyah’s negativity towards the Institute, urges her to immediately distance herself from her sister.

Having promised Nina he’d walk Freddie before school, Sam calls in the café to collect him but as Sam heads out, unbeknown to him, a sleuth watches from a table in the corner. Distraught, Sam returns without Freddie, explaining how he ran off. And Evelyn offers to mind the cafe whilst Nina and Toyah head out to look for him.

In the cafe, Nina, Asha and Evelyn watch a video uploaded by the sleuths showing that they’ve taken Freddie hostage and to secure his safe return, Roy must confess to Lauren’s murder. What will they do next?

As Toyah searches the park for Freddie, she comes across three sleuths digging up a rose bed who reveal that they saw Freddie digging in the same place, so they reckon Roy may have buried Lauren’s body there.

Seeing red, Toyah picks up a shovel and smashes their car window whilst one of the sleuths film her on his phone. When Nick arrives, he persuades Toyah to put down the shovel as she bursts into tears.

Having returned home, Toyah rails at an upset Sam for losing Freddie in the first place and the police call at Victoria Court looking for Toyah.

Calling in the flower shop, Toyah purchases a single yellow rose and when Joel asks her who it’s for, she says it’s for Leanne.

As Nick desperately tries to keep the peace between Leanne and Toyah, Joel asks Leanne if she liked her rose Toyah bought her. Left bemused, Leanne quizzes Toyah on it who makes out she binned it.

When Toyah remains adamant she was right to defend Roy’s reputation and to stop the sleuths from desecrating such a special place, Nick’s puzzled by her choice of words.

Returning home, Nick finds Toyah in tears as she reveals that at 19 she gave birth to a stillborn baby girl. She kept it a secret and buried her in the exact same place in the park that she found the sleuths digging up. Taking a deep breath, Toyah admits to Nick that the baby’s father was Phil Simmonds, the guy who raped her.

Returning home, Simon is oblivious to the tension and tells Nick and Toyah that the police are digging up North Cross Park and Bobby reckons they’ve found a body. Will Toyah find herself in even more trouble?

When Leanne tells Nick that she feels betrayed and he should never have kept Toyah’s secret from her, she immediately perks up when Rowan arrives and suggests to her that she should unburden herself of negativity and embark on some uploading. As Leanne tries to object, Rowan urges her to put herself first.

Calling in the bistro, Toyah finds Nick run off his feet as Leanne is with Rowan so she offers to help him out.

Meanwhile, as Leanne talks Rowan through all the bad things that have happened in her life, he listens intently and assures her that he’s by her side every step of the way.
