After visiting her mum, Kelly reveals to Simon how she's caring for her, attending school and cramming in shifts at the barbers. But when Simon urges her to talk to Gary and Maria, Kelly refuses.
In order to focus on her council campaign, Maria tells Kelly she needs to increase her shifts at the barbers, leaving her wondering how she's going to fit in visits to her mum.
Later, Simon's concerned when Kelly takes a call from her mum to say she’s fallen and with Maria furious, after Kelly fails to turn up for work, Simon realises it’s time to tell Gary and Maria the truth.
As Kelly tends to her Mum, they’re interrupted by Gary. As Kelly admits what’s going on, how will Gary and Maria respond?
When Laura announces she intends to hire a PI to track down Rick so she can get her hands on his money for Kelly, Gary tells her that he'll sort a PI, hoping to scupper her plan. Meeting up with Lenny, Gary explains he wants him to pretend to track down Rick but make no progress whatsoever.
But having spent the past two years literally getting away with murder, the clock is ticking for Gary as a terminally ill Laura is determined to find out once and for all what happened to her ex Rick Neelan.
After Laura hires a private detective, Gary is forced to answer some very tricky questions about his relationship with Rick. And when news reaches him of a new building development planned for the very place he buried Rick’s body. it looks as though the house of cards is about to come tumbling down.
