Will Gary’s showdown finally force the truth out?

28 MARCH - 3 APRIL

As Christina and Summer bring Glenda and Sarah up to speed on George’s theory that Theo is abusing Todd, they’re horrified to realise Todd has been suffering in silence. And when Todd arrives for work, he realises that they’re talking about him, and leaps to Theo’s defence. But George doesn’t believe a word.

When Sarah shares her concerns with Gary, he’s sceptical. But when Sarah lists all the incidents which point to domestic abuse, the scales fall from his eyes.

As Todd steals himself to enter the flat, Gary appears and offers to accompany him. Upon hearing the key in the door, Theo shouts abuse and is taken aback to realise Todd has Gary with him. Will Gary let it ride?

At the yard, Gary hands Theo his tools and tells him he’s fired. When Theo accuses him of overreacting, Gary loses his temper and warns him to watch his back.

Calling at the flat, George hands Todd a holdall, explaining that it’s his escape bag, containing all the basics, and when the time comes, he can grab it and leave. Will Todd realise it’s time to break free?

When Theo discovers his escape bag, Todd thinks on his feet, and lies, making out it’s a present from George, because he told him about their Belfast plans. But will Theo buy Todd’s story?

Theo decides to go to the Bistro to quiz George. And when Sarah and Summer discover that Todd is planning to go to Belfast with Theo, they are horrified. Can they change his mind?

When Todd apologises to him for the confrontation in the Bistro, George assures him that he will always care about him.

In court, a terrified George is supported by Christina and Glenda as he awaits the verdict. After the hearing, Todd seeks out George in the pub, and when George questions his motives for moving to Belfast, Todd changes the subject.

Later, George is shocked to see Adam and Alya leaving the pub with Damien Ripley, who has clearly agreed to testify against him and begs them to drop the case, but to no avail.

Coronation Street continues Monday to Friday at 8.30pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
