Tony and Diane clash over how they should support their child in Hollyoaks

With Rose wishing to be known as Ro, will he get the support he needs?

FOR WEEK COMMENCING 1ST APRIL

When Tony confides in Sally about Rose’s revelation, she encourages him to seek help to guide him and Diane through the transition.

Taking on Sally’s advice, Tony makes an appointment at the doctors for Rose, but when Diane finds out, she worries it’s too soon and expresses her concerns.

After accidentally breaking a wing mirror outside the garage, Rose ends up confiding in Mercedes who reminds them to not let anyone stop them from being who they really are.

When Rose tells his parents that he wants to be called Ro, wanting to try and support his child Tony agrees, but Diane struggles with the change.

After speaking to Mercedes and wanting to put his child first, in preparation of him returning to school, Tony goes to Carter’s house to inform him that Rose is now going by the name Ro.

When Carter offers Tony and Diane help with Ro, Diane is left distressed discovering Tony has spoken to the headteacher without her knowing.

Later at school, Carter shows resistance towards accepting Ro’s new name, but the youngster refuses to backdown and Tony and Diane seek advice from Kitty who tells them it’s important their child doesn’t feel any conflict between them.

And Tony tells Lucas it’s important he refers to Ro as he/him in order to not push him away further.
