Vicki Michelle joins EastEnders as Rocky Cotton's wife Jo Cotton

The new "brash, quick-witted, and extremely glamorous" character will appear in two episodes next month.

Vicki Michelle, best known for playing Yvette Carte-Blanche in Allo! Allo!, has joined the cast of EastEnders for a short stint in the role of Jo Cotton, wife to Rocky Cotton, played by Brian Conley.

Jo and Rocky got married over 25 years ago but with Rocky never being the most honest about his past, little is known about his previous relationship but just how will he react when his past catches up with him?

On joining EastEnders for two episodes in March, Vicki Michelle said "I’m so excited to be in EastEnders and everyone has been so lovely. Jo Cotton is a great character and it is such a great story. I can’t wait for the audience to meet her."

To which Executive Producer for EastEnders, Chris Clenshaw, added "We’re thrilled to welcome the immensely talented Vicki to the EastEnders family, as she brings to life the character of Jo Cotton."

"Vicki is the perfect fit to take on the elusive character of Rocky’s wife that we know very little about. Brash, quick-witted, and extremely glamorous, Jo is akin to her long-lost husband, Rocky and as you would expect she is immediately thrown into the heart of the drama when she arrives in Walford."

EastEnders continues Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One
