WHAT TO WATCH 13-19 August

This week’s best telly includes the UK premiere of Love Island Australia, the return of Celebrity Big Brother and the final episode of Unforgotten. Here are 7 shows you can’t miss this week...

1. Jamie Cooks Italy


This week sees Jamie Oliver return to Channel 4 with a brand new series, Jamie Cooks Italy, which sees him and his friend and mentor Gennaro Contaldo going right to the heart of Italian cuisine.


The pair will be travelling far and wide to learn Italy’s best-kept secrets from the true masters of the Italian kitchen, the nonnas and the home cooks who have perfected recipes that have been lovingly handed down over generations. They'll be picking up tips and showing us how we can recreate these authentic masterpieces in our own homes.


Travelling to eight different regions from Puglia in Spring and the Aeolian Islands in Summer to Tuscany in Autumn and Rome in Winter, Jamie and Gennaro will uncover the wisdom of the locals, experience seasonal foodie delights and learn the secrets of mouth-watering regional recipes to pass on to future generations and food lovers around the world.

2. Love Island Australia

Monday 13th - Friday 17th August at 11pm on ITVBe


Two weeks since Jack and Dani were crowned winners of Love Island, ITV have decided to spring a surprise on us... They're bringing us the Australian version!


Hosted by Sophie Monk, Love Island Australia was filmed just miles away from the UK series villa and became a record-breaking ratings hit for Channel Nine.


Just like the UK version, 10 beautiful singletons will take part in the ultimate game of love. After they find their match, they must stay together while surviving temptations as new singles enter the villa.

3. The Ultimate Matchmaker

Wednesday 15th August at 9pm on W


This brand new series sees Lara Asprey and her team of dedicated matchmakers make it their mission to come to the rescue of two single people in need of expert help.


When it comes to sorting out the love lives of the super-rich, Lara is your woman. Famed amongst London’s wealthy elite for her match-making skills, this high society mover and shaker enjoys a well-earned reputation for being able to find well- heeled singles their perfect match.


The clients arrive at the dating agency HQ in south-west London, where open up to Lara, setting out where their love life took a wrong turn, and painting a picture of what they are looking

for in ‘The One.’ Then it’s time for the team to get to work, as they hit the phones, rifle through their contact books and head for the bars and cafés of Chelsea and Mayfair, leaving no stone unturned in their quest to find Lara’s client their perfect match.

4. Celebrity Big Brother

Thursday 16th August at 9pm on Channel 5


'A Storm is Coming', that's the tagline for this year's second series of Celebrity Big Brother which arrives before the usual civilian edition of Big Brother.


Once again Emma Willis returns to host the main show whilst Rylan takes care of Bit on the Side and the line-up has been rumoured to include; Stormy Daniels, John Leslie, Dan Osborne, Sinitta and Ryan Thomas.


It's also thought that this could be the final series of Celebrity Big Brother as Channel 5 are looking unlikely to renew the series.



5. Keeping Faith

Thursday 16th August at 9pm on BBC One


When Evan's car is found abandoned at the docks, Faith is dragged to the police station for an interrogation.


When Steve attempts to help, he too finds himself caught in the firing line of the law. Meanwhile, an increasingly conflicted Tom uncovers terrible secrets about his son, Bethan's erratic behaviour puts a strain on her marriage to Terry, Faith prepares to do a secret deal with Dr Alpay and DI Williams resorts to desperate tactics to break Faith.

6. The Big Asian Stand Up

Friday 17th August at 10pm on BBC Two


The Big Asian Stand Up showcases a new wave of Asian comedic talent from the UK and beyond and sees Nish Kumar introduce a mix of hilarious stand-ups who share an exciting and diverse voice.


The five exciting comedy faces joining Nish in tonight’s show are Tez Ilyas, Eshaan Akbar, Isma Almas, Emily Lloyd-Saini and Anuvab Pal.

7. Unforgotten

Sunday 19th August at 9pm on ITV


This week sees the third series of Unforgotten come to a dramatic conclusion.
