WHAT TO WATCH 16-22 December

It's time to crown this year's Strictly champion!

This week's best telly includes not one, not two, but SIX Christmas specials as All Creatures Great and Small, Brassic, The Lateish Show, Murder They Hope, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Rob & Romesh Vs each return with a festive treat.

And of course, it's time to find out who out of Bobby Brazier, Ellie Leach and Layton Williams will lift this year's Strictly glitterball trophy!

Here are 7 TV shows you can't miss this week...

1. Strictly Come Dancing: The Final

Saturday 16th December at 7pm on BBC One

After 12 weeks of dazzling routines, Strictly firsts and incredible journeys, it's time for the Grand Final and time to crown this year's Strictly Come Dancing champion.

Sadly, last weekend saw Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe bow out of the competition, meaning that this year's finalists are Bobby Brazier (with Dianne Buswell), Ellie Leach (with Vito Coppola) and Layton Williams (with Nikita Kuzmin).

But with three routines each to perform, who will lift that famous Glitterball trophy? And remember, this week the judges’ scores are for guidance only as the winner lies entirely in your hands.

And if all that wasn't enough excitement, superstar Cher will be performing and the cast of 2023 will return for one more epic routine.

2. Blood Actually: A Murder, They Hope Mystery

Saturday 16th December at 9pm on Gold

Sian Gibson and Johnny Vegas return as Gemma and Terry in Blood Actually, a new Murder, They Hope mystery, alongside Sarah Hadland, Sherrie Hewson, Lee Mack, Rose AylingEllis, Peter Davison, Anita Dobson, Jane Horrocks, Martin Kemp, Robert Webb and many more.

It’s Christmas and Gemma has hired a lovely cottage in a quaint village, whilst Terry has been learning to cook the perfect Xmas dinner. It’s going to be the best Christmas ever. But when Terry spots that the village has a Santa competition, things take a dark turn as competitors start being killed off in a host of warped and festive ways!

Who is the killer? What is it about the residents of this far-flung village that is so unsettling? And can Terry finish preparing the dinner of his dreams AND solve the murders in time for Christmas lunch?

3. Rob & Romesh Vs Lapland

Sunday 17th December at 9pm on Sky Max

This Christmas, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan are heading to Santa Claus Village in Lapland, to see if they have what it takes to join his troupe of merry Elves.

The lads will be helping out with the Reindeer, writing replies to Christmas letters from around the world and taking on a “traditional” Elf Baptism of an ice dip. All before meeting Santa Claus himself to find out whether they have made the cut as one of his Elves.

4. Never Mind the Buzzcocks Christmas Special

Tuesday 19th December at 9pm on Sky Max

This Christmas, Greg Davies, Daisy May Cooper, Noel Fielding and Jamali Maddix are joined by Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Harry Hill and Ricky Wilson for a festive special of Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

Plus, there are special appearances from 100% of DJ Luck and MC Neat, two-fifths of 5ive, two-sevenths of The Wurzels, and one-half of Blazin' Squad's remaining squad!

5. The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan: Christmas

Wednesday 20th December at 10pm on Channel 4

After 4 years of The Lateish Show, host Mo Gilligan is saying goodbye to his hit Channel 4 ending with this week's festive special in which he's joined by an all-star line-up of celebrity guests, including Leona Lewis, Fred Sirieix, Joel Dommett and Allan Mustafa.

Expect a Christmas carol edition of Nursery Grimes, and Mo's studio audience will get into a nationwide karaoke battle against Babatunde Aléshé's squad of partygoers in Manchester in a very merry Pass the Mic singalong. It's the only Christmas party you need to be at! And a suitable send-off.

6. All Creatures Great and Small

Thursday 21st December at 9pm on Channel 5

An All Creatures Great and Small Christmas special is fast becoming a staple of festive telly and this year, James is miles away at the RAF training base for Christmas.

However, an emotional phone call with a very pregnant Helen makes him determined to get back to her, but he doesn’t have many options and RAF mascot Georgie needs his help. Struggling to do the right thing, will James find his way home in time for Christmas?

Meanwhile, Mrs Hall prepares a community Christmas celebration in Darrowby, whilst Siegfried and Carmody argue over who will be Father Christmas this year. And when Carmody is welcomed by Darrowby and finds himself enjoying it, James learns a very important lesson and is rewarded with a surprise.

7. A Very Brassic Christmas

Thursday 21st December at 9pm on Sky Max

Nobody does Christmas like the Brassic gang and whilst the plan is to kick back, relax and enjoy life to the max, then comes the inevitable. A call from Dr Chris saying his aunt is in crisis and needs looking after and a robbery at Tyler’s school ruining his nativity.

Vinnie, Erin Tommo, Cardi, Carol Ashely and JJ must now bring on their A Game and help save Christmas the Brassic way. Bring on a heist at a winter wonderland, a fight with a man called Dick Dolphin, babysitting Chris’s Aunt and the best Nativity ever staged.

This extra special Brassic Christmas episode co-stars Imelda Staunton as Aunt Edie and Greg Davies as Dick Dolphin.
