Wednesday Addams is back!

This week's best telly includes the return of Netflix's hit drama Wednesday, for the first part of its second season, as well as the return of Apple TV+'s hit comedy Platonic and a new adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo.
Elsewhere, The Fortune Hotel opens its doors for a second series on ITV1, a new group of brave celebrities take on Channel 4's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and 8 celebrities learn to cook from the best on Cooking with the Stars. And Johnny Vegas embarks on his most personal project in an artistic love letter to his hometown.

The latest adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s classic novel, The Count of Monte Cristo launches this week on U&Drama, with Sam Claflin in the leading role, playing Edmond Dantes alongside Jeremy Irons as Abbe Faria in this tale of revenge.
Falsely accused of treason, Edmond Dantes, a young sailor, is imprisoned without trial in the Château d’If, a grim island fortress off Marseille. After many years of captivity, he finally escapes and assumes the identity of the wealthy and enigmatic Count of Monte Cristo.
With his newfound resources, he embarks on a journey of revenge on those who have wrongly accused him.

RETURNING TALENT SHOW
COOKING WITH THE STARS
Sunday 3rd August at 7pm on ITV1

Emma Willis and Tom Allen return this week to host the fifth series of Cooking With The Stars as another eight celebrities are paired with an accomplished chef who will mentor and teach them to produce delicious dishes that will be judged by the other professionals.
Across a series of exciting cooking battles, the show will see eight celebrities go head to head in the kitchen as they attempt to go from passionate amateur cooks to restaurant level chefs.
The celebrities hoping to cook up a storm this series will be actor Natalie Cassidy, reality TV star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, actor and comedian Hugh Dennis, author and interiors expert Kelly Hoppen, radio presenter Jordan North, media personality Jack Osbourne, reality TV star Jessica Wright and former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips.
At the end of each episode, the bottom two will have to fight for their place in the competition, creating a dish without any help from their mentor.

WHO DARES WINS

A squad of 14 celebrities from the world of music, entertainment and sport are being called upon to take part in the most gruelling phase of Special Forces selection, as Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, returns for a brand new serise.
Taking part in this year’s condensed version of the toughest environments faced by Special Forces operatives are Adam Collard, Adebayo “The Beast” Akinfenwa, Bimini Chloe Burrows, Conor Benn, Hannah Spearitt, Harry Clark, Lady Leshurr, Louie Spence, Michaella McCollum, Rebecca Loos and Troy Deeney,
The famous faces will be directed through this condensed version of SAS Selection by an elite team of ex-Special Forces soldiers. Chief Instructor Billy Billingham and his team of Directing Staff (DS). Foxy (Jason Fox), Rudy Reyes and Chris Oliver.
In Wales they're stripped of their home comforts, families, agents and social media and together the DS will push the celebrity recruits even further and teach them key skills to survive. There will be no room for mistakes as these celebrity recruits face the hardest course yet, in the most gruelling stages of SAS selection.
There will be no special treatment for any of the celebrities, as they confront surprising truths about themselves, to discover their true selves. Not everyone will have what it takes to make it to the end of this course. The DS don’t care how famous the recruits are, how many social media followers they have or what they have done before this. As soon as they enter the selection process, their celebrity status and luxuries are stripped away.
No other test asks as much or means as much to the few who make it through and no allowances or exceptions will be made for this group of celebrities.

What starts as a creative endeavour turns into a journey of self-discovery when Johnny receives a diagnosis of ADHD. Though the original artistic vision falters, the documentary uncovers a silver lining, an honest and heartfelt conversation about mental health and understanding yourself.
