CELEBRITY SABOTAGE

Saturday 21st March

8pm | ITV1

ITV1's new prank show Celebrity Sabotage launches this week and sees celebrity saboteurs Joel Dommett, Judi Love, Sam Thompson and GK Barry, as well as a whole host of celebrities, cause mischief and mayhem.

In each episode, a fresh set of unsuspecting contestants will arrive, believing they're participating in a brand-new ITV show, but what they don’t know is that hidden away in their very own high-tech Mission HQ, the celebrity saboteurs are secretly watching the contestants’ every move and are being set their own sabotage missions.

And the stakes are high, because the only rule for the celebrity saboteurs is not to get caught, because for every successfully executed sabotage mission, they will add money to a secret prize pot of up to £30,000. At the end of each episode, this pot will be revealed and shared equally amongst all the contestants.

In the first episode, Sara Davies teams up with the Celebrity Saboteurs as the host of The Applicant, a fake business competition show in which a group of business enthusiasts will embark on a set of challenges under the watchful eye of entrepreneur Sara Davies.

Unbeknownst to them, this is all ‘fake’, and Sara is also helping our celebrity saboteurs complete their missions.

POWER: THE DOWNFALL
OF HUW EDWARDS

Tuesday 24th March

9pm | 5

Martin Clunes leads 5's new two-hour drama, Power: The Downfall of Huw Edwards, which explores the story of how a vulnerable 17-year-old was groomed by one of the most powerful figures in television, Huw Edwards.

It explores the newsreader’s double life as it spirals out of control, leading him to make the greatest announcement of his career, his total exit from public life following his conviction for serious child sexual offences.

In September 2022, Huw Edwards was one of Britain’s most-trusted newsreaders, chosen to deliver the most important news to the British public. To an audience of millions across the country, he made the historic declaration that Queen Elizabeth II had died.

But Edwards had a secret. Online, he was repeatedly soliciting explicit sexual photos from young men, and in particular grooming a vulnerable 17-year-old. He had also struck up a separate online friendship with a man who, from December 2020 to August 2021, repeatedly sent him messages containing child abuse imagery which he accessed, including so-called ‘Category A’ images - the most extreme.

In July 2023, Edward’s secrets started to unravel rapidly after a national newspaper reported that “a top BBC star” had paid a “teenager for sexual pictures”. Separately, the police started to investigate Edwards’ online activity, leading him to plead guilty to making indecent images of children at Westminster Magistrates Court.

SOMETHING VERY BAD
IS GOING TO HAPPEN

Thursday 25th March

Netflix

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen is an atmospheric horror series, executive produced by The Duffer Brothers, set at a wedding, following a bride and groom in the week leading up to their ill-fated nuptials. That’s not a spoiler, just read the title.

Camila Morrone plays Rachel, who's getting married in five days and together with her fiancé, Nicky, played by Adam DiMarco, she embarks on a road trip to his family's vacation home, secluded in a snowy forest, for the intimate wedding ceremony of their dreams.

Which really would be so lovely, except ... prone to superstition and paranoia, Rachel can't shake the relentless feeling that something bad is going to happen. Her foreboding doubts, coupled with a series of eerie coincidences and dreadful surprises, force her to ask the question: What makes two people soulmates? And worse — what could be scarier than a lifelong commitment to the wrong person?
