The Celebrity Traitors is BACK!



This week's best telly includes the return of one of television's most-watched shows, The Celebrity Traitors, as a new group of celebrities enter the famous Traitors castle, as well as the return of BBC One's hit drama Blue Lights, for its fourth series.


There are also four big new dramas launching this week, East of Eden on Neflix starring Florence Pugh, Winter on ITV1 starring Richard Armitage and Annabel Scholey, War on Sky Atlantic starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller and Catherine Zeta-Jones leads Prime Video's new revenge thriller Kill Jackie.


Elsewhere, Lara Ricote and Samuel Bottomley lead new Channel 4 comedy Break Clause.

 RETURNING DRAMA

BLUE LIGHTS


Tuesday 29th September at 9pm on BBC One

Blue Lights returns this week to BBC One for its fourth series, and three years into their jobs as response officers, Constables Grace Ellis, Tommy Foster, and Annie Conlon are operating at their limit, facing a new threat on the streets that the police can barely control.


Meanwhile, the murder trial of Gerry Cliff exposes a dangerous and long-buried secret that leads to chaos both inside the police and across the criminal underworld.


As they grapple with big decisions about their future, Grace, Tommy and Annie must find the courage to face the greatest threat they have ever encountered: the truth.


The serIes stars Siân Brooke as Grace Ellis, Martin McCann as Stevie Neil, Katherine Devlin as Annie Conlon and Nathan Braniff as Tommy Foster, as well as Frank Blake as Shane, Joanne Crawford as Helen, Andi Osho as Sandra, Abigail McGibbon as Tina, Dearbháile McKinney as Aisling, Neil Keery as McCloskey and Andrea Irvine as Nicola.


And Richard Dormer, who played Gerry Cliff in the first series, will return alongside Hannah McClean as solicitor Jen Robinson and Jonathan Harden as disgraced former Inspector Jonty, in an episode that will answer important questions from the past.

 BRAND NEW DRAMA

WINTER

Launching this week on ITV1 is Winter, a new drama starring Richard Armitage as forensic pathologist Dr Ethan Winter, set against the atmospheric backdrop of Bristol, working alongside DI Lauren Bell and DS Ellis Daldry, played by Annabel Scholey and Jamie Kenna.


Together, the team must crack a series of twisted, compelling murder cases. With his unflinching eye for detail and deep knowledge of the human body, Winter sees what others miss, revealing the secrets the dead leave behind.


But beneath the charm, wealth and cool exterior, Winter is a man tormented by the violent death ten years ago of someone close to him. The case was closed, a man put behind bars. But when a recent suicide arrives in the lab bearing a chilling clue that echoes the earlier death, Winter is shaken to the core.


Gradually, as his conviction grows that the wrong man is in prison and the killer must still be at large, Winter begins to investigate. Despite her doubts and instincts to keep her distance, Bell is reluctantly drawn into a case that threatens to unravel everything the pair thought they knew.

Launching this week on Netflix is East of Eden, a new modern interpretation of Steinbeck's masterpiece, adapted by Zoe Kazan and starring Florence Pugh as Cathy Ames.


East of Eden explores the multigenerational saga of the Trask family, focusing new attention on its indelible antihero, Cathy Ames.


The series also stars Christopher Abbott as Adam Trask, Mike Faist as Charles Trask, Joseph Zada as Cal Trask, Joe Anders as Aron Trask, Hoon Lee as Lee, Tracy Letts as Cyrus Trask, Ciarán Hinds as Samuel Hamilton and Martha Plimpton as Faye.

THE CELEBRITY TRAITORS

The Celebrity Traitors returns this week to BBC One for its second series, as Claudia Winkleman welcomes a brand-new group of celebrities to The Traitors castle in the Scottish Highlands to play the ultimate reality game of deception and betrayal in the hope of winning a cash prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.


Hidden amongst the group are The Traitors, whose task is simple: under the cover of darkness, they must pick off their fellow players one by one without getting caught. The others, the Faithful, must try to uncover the Traitors and banish them before

becoming their next victim.


The lucky players who survive to the end have the chance of winning the money, and if a

Traitor remains, they take all the money and leave victorious.

BREAK CLAUSE

Launching this week on Channel 4 is Break Clause, a new comedy written and created by Jess Bray, starring Samuel Bottomley and Lara Ricote as Ben and Lil, whose relationship is over, but their tenancy isn't/


Break Clause follows Ben and Lil as they navigate their breakup whilst stuck in the same flat. Moving on from your first love is hard enough. Moving out is even harder...

KILL JACKIE


Friday 2nd October on Prime Video



Launching this week on Prime Video is Kill Jackie, a new revenge thriller starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, and based on the acclaimed novel The Price You Pay by Nick Harkaway, written as Aidan Truhen.


It follows Jackie Price, who has been living a wealthy, luxurious existence for the last twenty years, travelling the world, selling fine art using sophisticated tax loopholes and, above all, trying to stay anonymous after escaping a dangerous past as an international drug smuggler.


But just as life starts to feel a little boring, it takes a sudden lethal turn when she discovers The Seven Demons, a squad of the world’s most terrifying hitmen, have been hired to kill her.


Assuming someone from her past is behind it, Jackie unleashes her old instincts and embarks on a wild, dangerous game plan: to take down The Demons one by one before they kill her.


However, she soon realises her own demons are far more terrifying than the ruthless killers on her trail… and her buried secrets ultimately lead her much closer to home, with surprising consequences.

Launching this week on Sky Atlantic is War, a new legal thriller from George Kay, set in the elite world of London law, as two of London’s most prestigious rival firms, Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne, go head-to-head in the divorce case of the century.


The first series follows the explosive divorce of British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson, played by Dominic West, and international film star Carla Duval, played by Sienna Miller, as Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne stop at nothing to secure victory for their clients.


Each side is certain they’ll win. But as the case spirals and loyalties fracture, reputations are on the line, and everyone’s playing to win.


Archie Renaux plays ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, who's drawn into a ruthless world where ambition is currency, betrayal is strategy, and winning is everything.
