 RETURNING DRAMA

MALPRACTICE

Sunday 4th to Tuesday 6th May at 9pm on ITV1

ITV1's hit drama Malpractice, returns this week as the Medical Investigation Unit (MIU), Dr Norma Callahan and Dr George Adjei, once again played by Helen Behan and Jordan Kouamé, are called in to investigate a doctor under fire.

When on-call Psychiatric Registrar Dr James Ford, played by Tom Hughes, is caught between an anxious new mother’s postnatal check-up and the sectioning of a psychotic patient, no one could predict the devastating outcome.

His personal life is messy, and his colleagues may find him arrogant, but Dr Ford appears committed to his vulnerable patients. As the team dig further into the events of that night, what appears to be a series of poor choices by one doctor spreads beyond the psychiatric unit to a hospital seemingly at war with itself.

With the MIU investigation closing in, can Dr Ford save his already fragile career from a string of apparently damning mistakes? Is Dr Ford a doctor with a God complex, or a victim of the institution? And can the MIU uncover the truth of what happened, despite hostility from all sides?

 BRAND NEW ENTERTAINMENT

SILENCE IS GOLDEN

Monday 5th May at 9 on U&Dave

This week sees Dermot O'Leary front a brand new entertainment for show for U&Dave, called Silence is Golden, in which the studio audience are given £250,000, and all they need to do to win their share of it, is stay completely silent.

However, there's a green room of entertainers headed up by Katherine Ryan, Seann Walsh and Fatiha El-Ghorri attempting to bring the prize pot down as every single noise any audience member makes, will lose them money.

With every audience member mic'ed up, all hell breaks loose as a green room of 30 acts wage war on the audience, with every sound forced out of them bringing the total prize money down.

It's entertainers vs audience - they're not on the same side. If the entertainers get the prize pot to zero, they get to give money to charity.

In the first episode, efforts to bring the money down include a kidnapped dog, hundreds of fake spiders, a man who puts his hand in a bear trap, knife throwers, a naked lady, a very naughty santa, a very scary clown and the brilliant stand-up comedians Reuben Kaye, Laura Smyth and Emmanuel Sonubi.
