 BRAND NEW DOCUMENTARY

LAURA WHITMORE
ON BRITAIN'S KILLER TEENS

Monday 8th September at 9pm on Crime + Investigation

ree

In Laura Whitmore's brand new five part series for Crime + Investigation, she looks into five cases of teen murder, trying to answer the most difficult question, why? With testimony from the people closest to the cases and the victims, Laura will scrutinise what led to murder and what, if anything, can be done to prevent these crimes from happening again.

Over the last few years, the number of teenagers convicted of murder in the UK has risen drastically. The Ben Kinsella Trust reports that the number of girls under 16 murdered with a knife has doubled in just one year, rising from 3 to 7. This represents the highest level of such murders in a decade. The murders of boys under 16 has also reached a 10-year high.

Each episode will focus on a different case, delving into the motivations, thought processes and the effect on the families. With incredible access to the investigating teams, police, child psychologists, legal counsels and family members. Out of the devastation Laura meets some of the truly incredible family members who are nobly turning their losses into action.

One thing the five cases featured all have in common is that the perpetrators showed little remorse and understanding of the lives that they took, and the most alarming shared attribute is that all the killers were 18 years or younger at the time of their crimes.
