Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 2018 Celebs Revealed

This Christmas Day, six of the most-loved former contestants will return to the dance floor for an all-star Christmas extravaganza.

*NOW UPDATED WITH THE PROFESSIONAL PAIRINGS*

Those taking to the dance floor again are Anita Rani, Ann Widdecombe, Caroline Flack, Aston Merrygold, Jake Wood from Series 12 and Michael Vaughan from Series 10.

The theme for this year’s festive extravaganza is fairytales and making dreams come true. Each of the six couples will perform a Christmas inspired routine in a bid to be crowned Christmas champions 2018.

Once again, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will host, and the festive foursome will judge; Craig Revel Horwood, Dame Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas.

They'll be scoring each couple and spreading some cheerful joy, but it will be down to the studio audience to vote for which dancing duo will win the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 2018 and lift the famous Silver Star trophy.

Here's what the celebs had to say about returning to the Strictly dance floor for Christmas...

Anita Rani

Finished fifth in 2015, Series 13

“I can’t contain my excitement about dancing again and getting sparkly for Strictly, stepping back inside the glitter ball of glam!”

Anita Rani will be paired with Neil Jones who competed in the 2016 and 2017 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Specials.

Ann Widdecombe

Finished sixth in 2010, Series 8

"I am very much looking forward to returning to Strictly, where I shall once again be pushed, pulled, cajoled and coaxed around the dance floor in all manner of ways by my poor dance partner. Who knows, they might even fire me out of a canon."

Ann Widdecombe will be paired with her original Strictly partner Anton Du Beke who has competed in five Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Specials (2004, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016).

Caroline Flack

Won in 2014, Series 12

"I can’t quite believe it’s been four years since I had the best time of my life, dancing with Pasha on the Strictly dance floor. My Glitterball still has pride of place in my living room! It always felt like a family at the SCD studios, so how could I say no to performing one last time on this year’s Christmas special? It’ll be the best present I could imagine.”

Caroline Flack will be paired with Gorka Marquez who competed in the 2016 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.

Aston Merrygold

Finished tenth in 2017, Series 15

"I’m so happy to be able to get back on the Strictly floor. I feel like I’ve got some unfinished business with it!”

Aston Merrygold will be paired with his original Strictly partner Janette Manrara who won the 2016 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 2016 Melvin Odoom.

Jake Wood

Finished fifth in 2014, Series 12

"It’s been a few years since I donned the sequins so I can’t wait to do it all over again for the Christmas Special. I loved my experience on Strictly Come Dancing and I jumped at the chance when they asked if I wanted to step back onto the dance floor.”

Jake Wood will be paired with Luba Mushtuk, one of the brand new professional dancers who wasn't given a partner in the main series.

Michael Vaughan

Finished 7th in 2012, Series 10

“Having not danced at all since 2012 I can’t be any worse than then as I had no clue then, still have no clue, but can’t wait to have some fun and at least it will help lose a few pounds over the Xmas party season!”

Michael Vaughan will be paired with Nadiya Bychkova, who will be dancing for the first time in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
