Mark Gatiss' hit drama returns!

Ahead of series two's launch, U&Alibi has announced that Mark Gatiss' hit drama Bookish will return later this year for a Christmas special, followed by a third series in 2027.

The two-part Christmas special, titled Bookish: The Crown of Destiny, will see the appropriately named Gabriel Book open the doors of Book’s Books on Archangel Lane for a brand-new story, bringing viewers a seasonal mystery packed with festive charm, surprises and a dash of Christmas spirit.

Set in London 1946, Bookish follows the appropriately named Gabriel Book, who owns a bookshop in Archangel Lane. If his War was packed with espionage and secrets, Book’s peace is just as full of adventure as he helps the police solve the strangest of crimes and the knottiest of murders

In the opening two-parter of series two, which airs Wednesday 26th August, the bibliophile sleuth investigates the world of spiritualism as he helps to solve a baffling case involving a medium, Harold Sneed, played by Jason Watkins, and a séance full of suspects!

Made by Eagle Eye Drama, part of ITV Studios, Bookish is created by Mark Gatiss and series three promises to deliver even more of the intrigue, wit and compelling mysteries that have made Bookish a favourite with audiences.

Bookish returns Wednesday 26th August at 8pm on U&Alibi
