Voting for the seventh annual I Talk Telly Awards took place across 10 days in November, where 400,000 votes were cast.
Winning two awards each, Ant & Dec were awarded Best TV Presenting Partnership and Best Entertainment Show for Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Sex Education was awarded Best Returning Comedy and Best Comedy Performance for Ncuti Gatwa.
With all four major soaps nominated across Best Soap, Best Soap Newcomer, Best Soap Performance and Best Soap Partnership it was Coronation Street who walked away with all four awards, including wins for Vinta Morgan, Jude Riordan and Ben Price and Jane Danson.
David Tennant and Michael Sheen held on to their award from last year, once again being voted Best Comedy Partnership for Staged, Gogglebox have once again been voted Best Factual Entertainment and for the seventh consecutive year, This Morning was voted Best Daytime Show.
Stephen Merchant’s The Outlaws was voted Best New Comedy, whilst Only Murders In The Building was named Best International Comedy.
It’s A Sin was voted Best New Drama, Line of Duty won Best Returning Drama and Netflix hit Squid Game won Best International Drama. And Jodie Comer deservedly won Best Dramatic Performance for her performance in Channel 4’s Help.
The Great British Bake Off was voted Best Talent Show, Joel Dommett was named Best TV Presenter and Rosie Jones rounds off a brilliant 2021 with a win, being voted Best Breakthrough,
Elsewhere, Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s Race, Pop & Power was awarded Best Documentary and Highlife, part of Channel 4’s Black to Front project narrowly beat its rivals to win Best Reality TV Show.
