Feeling guilty about Ruby, will Cain confess the truth to Moira?
7-13 DECEMBER
With Moira intending to throw a surprise party for Cain’s birthday, Matty’s unconvinced she’s well enough.
Lying about his whereabouts, Cain, consumed by guilt, hunkers down for the night away from Moira and anxious to have not heard from him all night, but determined he will arrive, Moira sends Matty home and delays her appointment.
Running out of time to postpone her appointment any further, Moira makes a last-ditch phone call to Cain, before terrifyingly preparing to receive her pathology results alone.
Meanwhile, blocked from leaving by Jai’s awkwardly parked car and fuelled by a desperate voicemail from Moira, Cain’s stopped by Swirling. Agitated, Cain tries to get a move on, but his aggressive approach leads to an untimely arrest.
Deflated, Cain leaves Swirling torn when he asks for the chance to have one private conversation with Moira on the phone.
Aghast to hear from Cain that he has been arrested, Moira tells him that her results were fine, but admits to a heartbroken Matty that she’ll need radiotherapy as they both cry together.
Despite being let off with a caution, Cain is disinterested in Swirling’s compassionate understanding. And when he discovers a drunk Cain in the allotment, a supportive Liam makes a move to help his friend.
But when he later drops Cain off, Moira is furious as she reveals all about his surprise party and insists he pulls himself together for tomorrow. Guilty, Cain feels he has to tell her the truth. But will he?
