Pushed to breaking point, how will Cain react?

 14-20 FEBRUARY

When Liam informs Cain that Bear has confessed to killing Ray, Cain hopes that this news could help prove Moira's innocence. Whilst visiting Moira, just as he’s about to tell her about his diagnosis, an unexpected scuffle between prisoners interrupts them.

Thrown off, Cain decides against sharing his bad news and instead tells Moira about Bear's confession, desperately hoping it will lead to her freedom. Moira can see he's clutching at straws, but agrees that it's more hope than they had before.

However, the next day, Moira’s frustrated to hear that Cain put pressure on Bear and that his confession didn't even help her case. Noticing Cain's stress, Moira urges him to share whatever is bothering him, but Cain is resolute in keeping his secret.

Returning home, Cain is angry to find Joe on his sofa and tries to grab him by the collar, but Matty breaks up the fight and reveals he let Joe in. When Matty urges him to stop fighting everyone and instead support his wife, Cain is left near breaking point.

Returning to Home Farm, Joe assures Kim that Butlers will soon be theirs. Overcome with guilt, Ruby confesses to Cain that she was the one who called the police about Anya’s body, leaving Cain blindsided.

Livid after Ruby's confession, Cain accuses Caleb and Ruby of throwing Moira under the bus by involving the police, and concludes that Caleb's offer of a lawyer for Moira must have been out of guilt, and furiously orders them to leave.

Meanwhile, Sarah urges Cain to stop pushing away those who are trying to help him. But will he listen to his granddaughter?

Emmerdale continues Monday to Friday at 8pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
