At the Woolpack, Dan tries to stay positive about Reuben’s chances, but when a drunken Mack reaches breaking point and punches Dan before stalking off into the night, Charity is astonished.
Later, unable to bring himself to go in, a worried Mack sits outside the hospital and ignores a call from worried Charity who starts to worry about what is truly causing their rift.
Meanwhile, when the consultant tells her they’ll need to do another scan on an unimproving Reuben, Chloe desperately worries.
Realising Mack's concern, Nate urges him to see Reuben in the hospital, but with Charity already fishing for answers on his unusual behaviour, Mack soon risks his relationship as he heads to the hospital.
Soon, both parents are utterly relieved when the consultant tells them Reuben is showing no signs of brain damage and Mack jumps at the chance when Chloe asks him to come and see his son.
After hearing that Reuben is on the mend, Charity and Amy arrive at the hospital and plan a surprise visit. But Charity is in for a shock when she spots an unaware but emotional Mack with Reuben. She’s soon hit with the realisation that Mack is Reuben’s dad!
