The day after receiving a mysterious phone call, Charles wearily submits to help Claudette clean the church.
With Charles acting distracted, Claudette tries to grab his attention by critiquing his sermons and later, she's hurt when Charles tells her there are other places she can go. And it's clear that something deeper is troubling him.
Later, Charles is filled with a mixture of dread and annoyance as he makes his way towards the prison. Bracing himself outside the prison, a man walks towards him and Charles demands he stays away from his family.
