Finding it hard to cope with the fallout of his conversation with Gloria, George isn't comfortable sharing his pain with Elaine.
Later, he leaves Cindy a voicemail to say he wishes she were there. After cutting her trip short and coming home, Ian is perturbed that she hasn't been to see him. Instead, she's with George, who needs to talk through his anguish over Gloria and Eddie’s court case.
And Cindy reminds George she’ll always be there for him when he needs her.
