At choir practice, Ian stands up to Morag and nominates himself as her successor when she leaves.
But when he struggles in his new role as choirmaster, the choir descends into chaos and Ian seeks out Jean. After apologising to her, he admits that she’s the person to lead the choir to success.
When Jean discovers that Morag missed the deadline to enter the choir into the competition, she breaks the news to the choir who all agree to have a carol concert anyway.
After practicing all day, Karen and Kim are determined to out-do each other and land the solo spot, but feeling the pressure, Jean makes a snap decision.
And later, Jean is excited when she finds a Christmas present from Ian.
