With Hayley now living with the Ahmeds, everyone at the Slater's is concerned for her. Alfie takes it upon himself to sort it all out and says he'll go over there and convince her to come home.
However, when Hayley tells him that she wants to give Cherry up, he tries his best to convince her otherwise, but with Hayley continuing to refuse, Alfie gets thinking.
Despite Jean suggesting that Hayley needs some space, Alfie tries desperately to win her round and Kat is thrilled when Hayley and Cherry finally return to the Slater's.
Later, as Kat and Alfie drum up business for Mo’s Christmas stall, Kat gets a shock when the elderly man she knocked over appears, and she makes a hasty exit.
Leaving Alfie to hear all about what happened, he finds Kat in The Vic and as he tries to comfort her, she opens up to him about Maurice's revelation which has been playing on her mind. Alfie tries his best to reassure her.
Later, after waiting for Alfie at the E20, Kat is shocked to find Alfie with Maurice. As she goes to leave, Alfie pleads with her to hear Maurice out.
