What secret is Ella hiding?

When Liam suggests staying at her place, Ella panics and manages to deflect his offer.
Later on the outskirts of the village, we see Ella bed down in her car, clearly lacking a permanent place to stay.
The following morning, Manpreet whilst on her morning run, finds Ella sleeping in her car. Embarrassed, Ella begs Manpreet not to tell Liam. However, it's not long before she clumsily admits to Liam that she found Ella sleeping in her car, leaving Ella furious.
After some discussion, Liam suggests she temporarily moves into the spare room at Tenants and Ella agrees.
Later, as Ella moves her stuff into the house, Mandy enquires about her family and Ella snaps when she spots Mandy holding an old photograph, leaving Mandy confused.
As Ella and Liam adjust to living together and navigate their relationship, Liam is bemused when Ella refuses to let the photographer take her picture and dashes off.
Out in the beer garden, Mandy advises Liam to make sure Ella has no skeletons in the closet before things get serious between them.
Rattled by Liam’s intrusive questions, Ella quickly darts out of the house and later visits a care home.
