Coming fresh from his Fringe debut!

Saturday Night Live UK has announced the addition of actor and comedian Freddie Meredith to its cast list.

Fresh off his Edinburgh Fringe debut with his Best Newcomer Award-nominated comedy show Need a Light?, he joins the returning SNL UK ensemble of Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young.

Broadcast live from London each week, the series will once again welcome a different celebrity host and musical guest for every episode, alongside topical sketches, live music performances and a British take on the iconic Weekend Update segment, hosted by Ania Magliano and Paddy Young.

Born in London, more specifically Shepherd’s Bush, Freddie describes his comedy heroes as Jamie Demetriou, Tim Key, Tina Fey, Nathan Fielder, Kristen Wiig, Steve Coogan, Steve Carrell and Julia Davis.

On why he wanted to be part of Saturday Night Live UK, Freddie said "It's a no brainer, it’s the most iconic comedy show and it looks like so much fun. It will undoubtedly inform everything I do for the rest of my career and I can’t wait for the experience. It’s SNL!!!"

Speaking to his background, he said "I trained at drama school and began working professionally in theatre. Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to comedy and started doing stand‑up alongside my acting work, and that naturally led me into making short sketches online."

Sky One recently confirmed that actor and global icon Jeff Goldblum will take to the stage as the first host of Saturday Night Live UK’s second series on Saturday 12th September, and will be joined by acclaimed Irish singer‑songwriter CMAT.

The first six episodes of series two will air weekly, with a break on Saturday 3rd October, with the remaining six episodes set to air in early 2027.

Made by Universal Television Alternative Studio's UK production team and Broadway Video, Saturday Night Live UK is directed by Liz Clare, with James Longman as Lead Producer and Laura Claxton has been promoted to Co-Head Writer, joining existing Head Writer Jonno Johnson.

The new series is executive produced by Lorne Michaels, with Heather MacVean joining as Costume Designer and Sinead Oldnall heading up the UK talent team as Director of Onscreen Talent.

Further hosts and musical guests will be announced soon.

Saturday Night Live UK returns Saturday 12th September at 10pm on Sky One
