But is she being entirely truthful about how much she kept?
7-13 SEPTEMBER
Holly is on edge as she tries to keep Karl away from her illicitly-obtained money stashed in the backyard.
When she returns from yet another spending spree, a worried Karl and Susan finally confront her with their concerns that she’s using retail therapy to deal with her recent traumas.
Forming a lie to cover her spending, Holly says the money came from selling the necklace Heath gave her and she’s turning something bad into something good.
Confident she’s put them off the scent, Holly returns home to relocate her stacks of cash, only to be caught red-handed by Wendy.
After geing busted with the money, Holly admits to Wendy it belonged to Heath, but tries to justify keeping the money as victim’s compensation for what Heath put her through. Reasoning that all the money at Lassiters will be accounted for by Tess, Holly tells her no one will miss it.
But after Wendy threatens to tell Karl and Susan, Holly agrees to come clean with Andrew and returns the money to him, but lies about the amount, saying it was only $10,000, when it was significantly more.
Andrew and Wendy agree to not tell Karl and Susan, believing that though she had a momentary lapse in judgment in thinking about keeping the money, Holly had ultimately done the right thing.
However, Holly doesn’t tell Wendy or Andrew that she’s already spent some of the money, nor that she’s still holding onto a substantial portion of it.
Later on, Holly enquires about a $50,000 car.
