Beaming after the education inspectors give Hollyoaks High impressive reviews, Olivia presents the facts to Sally as to why she should be made permanent Deputy Head.
However, when Sally brushes her off, Olivia turns to blackmail and her family give her the McQueen confidence she needs to stand up to Olivia.
When Sally has a hospital appointment in the afternoon, John Paul promises to support her. But after an awkward run-in with Nancy, he ends up letting Sally down as she receives some upsetting news from the hospital.
As Sally later lies to her family, John Paul turns to drink.
Unaware of John Paul’s latest relapse, the McQueen family throw a party to celebrate his sobriety and Sally lies about being fit enough to return to work.

After Matthew Jesus gets in a fight at school, John Paul is urged to apologise to his son, instead, he lashes out at his family and as he makes a big decision, his family offer their support.
