They'll play two sisters looking to get even.

At this year's Edinburgh Television Festival, Netflix announced The Unheard, a new five-part drama from Jack Thorne, which promises to be a thrilling journey into untold darkness.

It stars Kate Winslet and Maxine Peake as two sisters who go on the run after an act of vengeance goes wrong. As they are desperately pursued, we ask the question: What pushed them to this reckless act, and was it ever their intention to get away with it?

Made by Matriarch Productions and Plan B, The Unheard is written by Jack Thorne, directed by Mounia Akl and executive produced by Jack Thorne, Kate Winslet, Hannah Walters and Stephen Graham for Matriarch Productions, Mark Herbert and Emily Feller for Warp Films and Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Nina Wolarsky for Plan B.

The Unheard will air on Netflix
