Can Kev convince Lewis he’s changed?

 4-10 JULY

When Kev voices fears that Lewis wants nothing to do with him, Charles assures him he’d be a brilliant dad if given the chance. With Kev left feeling encouraged, he changes his name to ‘Barton’ to bond with Lewis, but is frustrated when he doesn’t get through to his son.

Later, Kev explains his tragic past and vows never to go back to prison, stating he changed his name to protect Lewis from the ‘Townsend’ name. When Ross walks in and orders Kev to leave, Lewis intervenes, telling Ross he wants to give Kev a chance. And Ross warns Kev about the consequences if he hurts Lewis.

Later, while Kev enjoys a pint with Lewis and Vinny, Nicola confronts him, and they stare daggers at each other. And Ross tells Manpreet that it is only a matter of time until Kev makes a mistake and gets himself banished.

Shortly afterwards, a mysterious figure breaks into the cafe and steals the cash box, and Lewis and Nicola are shocked to find the cafe has been ransacked. Theorising who could be behind the robbery, the idea inevitably arises that Kev had something to do with it, and Lewis is determined to find out the truth.

Outraged by the accusation, Kev adamantly denies any involvement in the robbery. Kev tries to plead his case, but Lewis is having none of it.

Emmerdale continues Monday to Friday at 8pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
