Leyla in deadly danger after being kidnapped by Callum in Emmerdale

And with Suzy knocked unconscious by Callum, will either of them survive?

When Leyla reveals she’s put Jacob in serious danger with Callum, David and Pollard are terrified and worry for his safety when they can only reach his voicemail.

However, when Jacob bounds into the shop, everyone is relieved and after Leyla confesses that she provoked Callum, David takes Jacob to stay with Pollard.

Meanwhile, Suzy has a plan to take down Callum by smearing him as a grass to his criminal associates, but before she gets the chance to, Callum appears outside Take a Vow and attacks Suzy with a brick.

Oblivious to her friend’s peril, Leyla tries to call Suzy, who's lying unconscious. When Mary comes across her lifeless body, she urgently calls for an ambulance. As Suzy lies unconscious in a hospital bed, Leyla’s guilt grows.

Leyla is later angered when the police advise her Callum has an alibi for the attack on Suzy and they have no evidence to place him at the scene.

Soon, Leyla is relieved but fearful when a nurse advises her Suzy is awake. From her hospital bed, Suzy is terrified to hear from Leyla how Callum is still at large and fears that he could come back and finish the job. The pressure on Leyla only increases when she starts receiving threatening messages from Callum.

Later, Caleb finds Leyla sobbing in the graveyard and as she confides in him, he advises her to play to win with Callum. Taking him at his word, Leyla messages her adversary to arrange a meet.

Dicing with danger Leyla meets Callum but things escalate and Leyla ends up being kidnapped by him. With Leyla bound and gagged, a threatening Callum looms.

Meanwhile, home and safe, an oblivious Suzy is annoyed that Leyla never showed up to pick her up from the hospital. But when she finds out Leyla’s missing and not answering her phone, she and the family are filled with dread.

Emmerdale continues Mondays to Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV1
