Louisa Lytton first appeared in EastEnders in 2005 and now 12 years since her final appearance, Ruby Allen is on her way back to Walford.
Ruby will be back on our screens later this year having fled in 2006 after realising that the feelings she had for Sean Slater weren't mutual. Someone she'd found comfort in following the death of her father, the villainous Johnny Allen.
During her time in EastEnders, viewers learnt about her troubled past and watched her get caught in the crossfire between Johnny and Phil Mitchell’s feud and she quickly became best friends with Stacey who took her under her wing.
Now back and more confident than ever, Ruby attempts to reconnect with her old best friend but after leaving on bad terms, how will Stacey react to her sudden return?
Speaking about returning to EastEnders, Louisa said “EastEnders was my first acting job out of drama school and opened so many doors for me. It’s wonderful to be given the opportunity to come back and explore my character and I’m excited to see what’s in store for Ruby.
We last saw her twelve years ago as a young girl and now she is returning as a woman with scope for major change and some brilliantly challenging storylines.”
Executive Consultant for the soap, John Yorke added: “Louisa is a fantastic actress and I am delighted that she is returning to EastEnders. Now twelve years older, viewers will see a much more mature and confident Ruby who is set to be involved in one of our biggest storylines later this year.”
Since leaving EastEnders, Louisa appeared in The Bill for two years, was one of the leads in ITV's Edge of Heaven and has starred in a number of theatre productions including Boogie Nights and Grease. Away from acting, she finished fourth on Strictly Come Dancing in 2006 and was the first celebrity to be eliminated from The Jump in 2016.
