How will others take the news?

 7-13 MARCH

On the brink of losing it all, a guilty Cain looks out over Butlers’ land and can barely cope with hearing Moira’s gratitude for him keeping everything going in her absence.

With the pressure of Joe and invoices to pay, Cain tells Sarah how Joe has truly got him snookered with the threat of prison. And Sarah tells him the time has come to tell Moira the truth before things unravel any further.

Meanwhile, with her own relationship suffering due to the secrets she is carrying, Sarah struggles when kindly Belle asks what is going on. And it pains Sarah that she can’t tell her the truth.

In the Woolpack Toilets, after a difficult and painful urination, the sight of blood in the toilet bowl leaves Cain terrified for his future.

Seeing how shaken Cain is, Liam tells him it’s time for people to hear the truth about his health.

As Cain visits Moira in prison, her world falls apart after he tells her the cancer he said she didn’t need to worry about is actually much worse. Struggling to hear that Cain has had his diagnosis for a month, Moira urges him to break the news to Kyle, Isaac and the wider family.

Gutted to hear the latest about the farm and Joe Tate, Moira tells Cain his health is more important. And Cain realises he needs to face his future head on.

The next day, Joe feels unappreciated when his masterplan to add Butlers Farm to the Tate empire fails to impress Kim.

That afternoon, a quiet and withdrawn Cain starts the process of telling the family about his cancer.

Meanwhile, Kim arrives for her Prison summit with Moira, but will it go as she expects?

As the family gather for Cain in the Woolie, he heads to the Backroom with Kyle and Isaac for one of the toughest conversations of his life

After a Woolpack speech from Sam reminds Cain of how loved he is by his family, he takes a moment to slip outside for some fresh air. And Mack, Matty and Ross feel like things might have turned a corner for the farm after Vanessa confirms the TB results for the herd are promising.

Emmerdale continues Monday to Friday at 8pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
