As the day of Aunt Sal's funeral arrives, the Mitchell clan gather from far and wide to pay their respects. When Kat worries that Phil is keeping his emotions to himself, Alfie attends the funeral in her place.
When Sam gives Ben and Billy their marching orders to attend, Phil isn’t convinced by her sudden interest in family.
Often referenced but never seen, Aunt Sal’s elusive husband, Harold Martin, will make a guest appearance as he prepares to say goodbye to his beloved wife alongside other members of the Mitchell family.
Played by David Sterne, Harold moves the congregation, including Phil, to tears with his eulogy.
As the Mitchell family prepares to say goodbye to their beloved Aunt Sal, Billy's estranged dad Stevie arrives, but it soon becomes apparent that his attendance is not welcome.
At the wake, Sam is shocked when Harold reveals that Aunt Sal left her, Grant and Phil £100,000. When she demands the money from Phil, he refuses.
Later, Sam is shocked when a jealous Alfie reveals that Phil slept with Emma and heads back to Peggy’s to blackmail Phil for the inheritance money.
