Roald Dahl's short stories for adults being adapted into a new Netflix series

Today, at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Netflix announced a new 6-part series based on a collection of Roald Dahl's short stories for adults, adapted by Danny Brocklehurst

Netflix revealed that the series sees Danny Brocklehurst weave a deliciously twisted tale through Roald Dahl’s iconic short stories.

A young couple, marooned in a faded seaside town, navigate conmen, adulterers, murderous mothers and snake charmers as they attempt to escape before their own fate is sealed...

Speaking ahead of the new series, as production begins in Manchester and across the North of England, writer Danny Brocklehurst said "The short stories of Roald Dahl were what first made me want to become a writer. His enthralling, macabre and always unexpected tales gave life to vibrant, larger than life characters like The Landlady, Mister Boggis and the mysterious Fingersmith."

Cast includes Naomi Scott, Josh Finan, Imelda Staunton, Nicola Coughlan, Toby Jones, Carmen Ejogo, Dominic West, Christine Tremarco, Michael Socha and Clarke Peter.

The series, written by Danny Brocklehurs, is produced by Sarah Lewis, directed by Runyararo Mapfumo for the first block and Ben Gregor for the second block. It is executive produced by Danny Brocklehurst alongside Gabriel Silver and Suzanne Mackie for Orchid Pictures.
