The Dingles unite as Cain bids a heartbreaking farewell to Monty in Emmerdale

Cain plans to ask Kyle about Moira adopting him, but when Moira has to leave to visit an injured Nana Barton, he decides to have the conversation alone.

Blindsided by Cain’s suggestion that Moira adopt him, Kyle seeks Kerry’s advice before heading back to give Cain his answer, but soon the moment is interrupted when Sam appears; something is very wrong with Monty.

Examining Monty, Rhona suggests his tumour might have spread further and suggests to Sam to think about the next steps. And Cain’s very emotional as he views his fate as entwined with Monty’s.

Later, when he finds Monty sleeping on Zak’s grave, Cain finally accepts it is time to say goodbye, and explains Monty’s situation to the boys.

Arriving at the vets with Monty, Cain braces himself, and soon Cain and his sons share an emotional moment.

At Isaac’s suggestion, Cain agrees to see Monty off like a true Dingle and prepare for a funeral.
