ITV have confirmed that The Keith and Paddy Picture Show which recently won Best New Comedy at the I Talk Telly Awards will be returning for a second series this Spring.
The first series aired in May 2017 and became ITV’s most-watched new entertainment series in 4 years with a series average of 4.2m. Each week, Keith Lemon and Paddy McGuinness would pay an affectionate and humorous tribute to some of their favourite movies.
The half hour episodes are a mix of high-end film parodies and behind-the-scenes mock-doc footage following the boys as they endeavour to bring their recreations to life.
Speaking about the new series, Keith Lemon said: "So excited to be back doing The Keith & Paddy Picture show! So much fun working with ya mate in real life, living the dream playing roles in classic films we love. The catering is amazing too!"
Whilst Paddy McGuinness added: "I can’t wait to start on the second series with Keith. The films we’re recreating this time round are some of the most iconic in cinema history. I’m mega excited to be playing dress up again with my mate. Let the fun and games begin!"
Last year’s run of five episodes saw Keith and Paddy recreate Dirty Dancing, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Jaws and Rocky with the help of an all-star celebrity cast which included; Ant & Dec, Sarah Parish, Anna Friel, Stephen Tomkinson, Phillip Schofield, Robbie Williams and Michelle Keegan.
Whilst ITV have yet to announce any of the names taking part this series, an announcement is due soon, but what we do know is that the series has been extended by one episode which means that this year, Keith and Paddy will be recreating six films, and they are; Top Gun, Jurrassic Park, Grease, Pretty Woman, Terminator 2 and Gremlins.
Keith Lemon is a rather busy man this year, with a new series of Through The Keyhole starting on Saturday night, more Celebrity Juice later on in the year and a new ITV2 show called Keith Lemon: Coming In America. But Paddy McGuinness isn’t exactly quiet either, as he’s hosting a new series of Take Me Out every Saturday night on ITV.
